Accepted Payments
Out of Network Billing
We accept payment via cash, debit or credit card, HSA or FSA card, and Apply Pay at the end of each session.
For online therapy services, We accept payment via TherapyNotes.
We do not accept insurance. Many insurance companies offer out-of-network benefits which provide reimbursement for psychotherapy services. We will provide you with all of the information necessary in a superbill in order to submit for reimbursement through your insurance provider.
How Do Out-of-Network Benefits Work?
If you have an Out-of-Network insurance plan and have met your deductible, your insurer will reimburse a significant portion of each session. After each appointment, we’ll provide a superbill for you to submit through your insurance portal, and you’ll receive a partial refund by check within a few weeks.
Questions to ask your insurance company if want to explore OON:
- Does my plan cover out-of-network mental health services, specifically for outpatient psychotherapy and telehealth visits?
- What is my out-of-network deductible for mental health services, and how much of it remains to be met?
- What percentage of the allowed amount does my plan reimburse for out-of-network psychotherapy (CPT code 90834 for individual therapy and 90847 for couple/family therapy)?
- Is there a limit on the number of sessions covered per year?
- How do I submit claim forms for out-of-network reimbursement? (Claims are forms that are sent to your insurance company to receive reimbursement for sessions you paid for out of pocket.)
The Reimbursement Process
- After each session, we will provide a superbill containing all necessary information for your insurance claims.
- Submit the superbill to your insurance provider. Contact them for specific submission instructions. You may need to mail, fax, or upload the superbill electronically.
- Your insurance company will review the claim and determine reimbursement based on your out-of-network benefits, issuing the reimbursement directly to you.
- Keep track of your reimbursements and any communications with your insurance provider. For questions or concerns about your claim’s status, contact your insurance company directly.
Good Faith Estimate
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” for the total expected cost of your medical and mental health care services. This applies to patients who are uninsured or not using insurance, and includes estimates for services such as psychotherapy. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Upon request, we can provide you with a “Good Faith Estimate” outlining the expected costs for services at Relate Reflect Psychotherapy. Please contact us to request this form.
